Do You Need Partial or Complete Dentures?

If you have lost several teeth, you may need partial dentures. We can create a special mouthpiece that fills in the gaps in your smile. These false teeth are connected with a plastic, pink base that closely resembles your gums. Some partial dentures also require a metal framework to fit the mouth properly.

Complete dentures are for patients with no natural teeth. If your teeth were extracted, you will need to wait 8 to 12 weeks for the gums to heal before we can fit you with conventional dentures. However, immediate dentures can be made in advance and fitted right after extraction. We recommend using immediate dentures as a temporary solution, as the gums tend to shrink and change over time.

Dentures are not a “one-size-fits-all” purchase. You have a unique mouth, and we want to outfit you with a set of teeth that are comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. That is why we may need you to come in several times so we can take impressions of your jawline and adjust the models, wax forms, or plastic patterns. We can still fine-tune the dentures after we receive them for maximum satisfaction.
